FALL 2025 NEWSLETTER
Dear Society Friends and Supporters:
This Spring, crews were brought in to repair damage caused by severe winter weather prior to the season getting underway. This Spring and Summer at the Park saw many visitors, coming from all points of the globe.
Although visitors were not able to enjoy the comforting presence of BC Park Ranger support for most of the season, there were no significant reported medical, civil or health and safety incidents. BC Ranger support in the future at the Park is undergoing further consideration by the authorities. However, your Society fully supports and encourages BC Parks to assign a full time Ranger at the Inlet during the visitor season.
A celebration event was sponsored by The Society on Wednesday August 13. About 50 Park supporters attended and heard from BC MLA Randene Neill, representatives from the Sechelt Nation and Society leadership. The history of the Inlet and its cultural significance were described, and a dedication was performed.
The past BC Parks Ranger, Ming Neil was honored by The Society for her 24-year tenure and her tireless support for the Park. You can read and see pictures in the Coast Reporter at: https://www.coastreporter.net/local-news/celebrating-and-planning-in-swiwelat-princess-louisa-inlet-11099139.
An additional story ran and can be seen at: 'Rich in a different way' after a 34-year B.C. Parks career - Coast Reporter.

The fall and winter season will soon be upon us, with the usual damaging winds, rain and snow which presents challenges for the Spring cleanup crew who will need to repair damage and maintain the infrastructure.
We hope to see you in the upcoming season and to enjoy the majesty and awe-inspiring views that the Park allows. Mac Macdonald would be proud to see that over 90% of the inlet is now protected from development via conservation covenants or ownership.
Your generous donations, in partnership with BC Parks, have made it possible to maintain the trails and docks, and to bring much needed improvements. You can make a donation and become a Life Member of the Princess Louisa International Society at: https://www.princesslouisa.bc.ca/.
