Dear Members and Freinds of the Princess Louisa Inlet,

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Marine Park this upcoming season and hope you will enjoy our majestic wonder of nature. The sheer rock walls reach over a mile high combined with the soothing sounds of Chatterbox Falls are something to behold. The Park did endure a harsh winter again, with low temperatures and weather conditions that will warrant continued maintenance to the facilities. As we continue to see the pandemic restrictions for the last few years ebb back into the rear-view mirror, we expect visitations to continue its upward trend from last summer.

For those of you who don’t like to anchor in deeper water, we have installed convenient mooring buoys for vessels under 70 feet in length, both near the main dock by the falls and by McDonald Island. For those coming by tour boat and seaplane, the Park trails can be explored quickly, and you can experience the wonders of the Park in just a few hours.

Our beloved BC Ranger Ming Neil will again be helping to ensure the safety and well-being of our visitors and helping to keep the Park facilities in top shape.  To that end, there will be work parties in the spring to restore broken bridges, re-gravel the trails, and repair the docks.  In addition, a special thanks to our friends at BC Parks for their continued planning, support, and commitment to the preservation of the Inlet.

We all look forward to seeing you again, or welcoming you for the first time, at the Inlet. Mac McDonald would be so happy that we have been able to fulfil his dream when he deeded the Park to us, so that we could enjoy the wonders of the Park for eternity.

Sincerely,

Tom Captain
